Ca goi , also known as ca gioi , is a fish that measures approximately the size of a finger with a sharp, swordlike snout. It lives near the coast and, is therefore, relatively easy to catch. Nguyen Van Hung, a resident of Hon Son Island with nearly 20 years of fishing experience, shared that ca goi can be caught all year in the early mornings when there is a slight breeze. Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island was recently named by Travel + Leisure magazine as one of the world’s top 25 islands in 2022. According to a ranking released by U.S.-based Travel + Leisure magazine, Phu Quoc is the world’s 14th best island. The ranking was based on votes submitted by readers and tourism experts from around the world. It is a yearly survey done by Travel + Leisure to guide travelers in planning the ideal vacation. Phu Quoc Island City, off the coast of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam, placed 14th on the list thanks to its white sand beaches and outstanding cuisine.
