SHBI plans mobile app lab By Le Hoang - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – Saigon Hi-Tech Business Incubator (SHBI) on Thursday announced it will deploy a mobile applications lab (short name mLab) project that is supported by the World Bank. Tran Tuan Anh, director of SHBI, said that under the framework of a program on Creating Sustainable Businesses for the Knowledge Economy of infoDev, a donor-funded ICT for development agency hosted by the World Bank, the mLab project will be carried out in five regions of the world. Venture funds pour money into mobile app development firms

Venture funds have also made heavy investment in the promising sector. Huynh Ngoc Hung, former Director of Nava.vn, belonging to NCT Corporation, said he plans to set up a business of his own in October 2012 which would specialize in making mobile apps for online shopping Nguyen Van Tuan, a senior executive of VC Corp, also said that the company is seeking suitable candidates for the mobile application development division, though it did not focus on the sector before. “VC Corp plans to recruit 25 engineers, while it has found 20 only.
