The State Bank of Vietnam’s (SBV) is drafting a "special" law to boost bank restructuring and settle bad debts, which would remove all the obstacles in the existing legal regulations. Dao Thi Thien Huong, partner in the Business Restructuring Services at PwC Vietnam, shared her thoughts on the restructuring of banks and settlement of bad debts in Vietnam, and provided ideas and recommendations to speed up this process.SBV is planning to propose a law to boost bank restructuring and settle bad debts which will be approved by the government and the National Assembly. If you are part of the civil service sector in the capital city, you might soon end up on the wrong side of the etiquette newly drawn up for public servants. The use of “improper” perfumes and sporting tattoos are just a few of the don’ts in a draft list of dos and don’ts released by municipal authorities recently. The list also tells Hanoians not to spit, urinate, use bad language or dress indecently. The draft etiquette compiled by the municipal Department of Culture and Tourism will take effect on January 1, if approved. It means there are just a few days more for some public servants to change their dress and make-up habits, among other things. Amara hotel gets new owner, new name By Dinh Dung - The Saigon Times Daily Workers post up the new logo of the Ramana Saigon HotelHCMC - The four-star hotel Amara Saigon Hotel in HCMC’s District 3 has got a new owner and a new name following the transfer of ownership from two foreign companies to a local business. Nguyen Tuan Anh, general director of the Vietstar Hotel Company Limited, a member of Vina Properties Development Co. Ltd., told the Daily that Vina Properties finished negotiations in November last year over the acquisition of a 30% stake from Hong Kong-based Kovina Investments Limited and 70% from Singapore-based AOI Saigon Pte Ltd. In late February this year, Vietstar Hotel received a license from local authorities over the ownership transfer, then renamed the hotel as Ramana Saigon Hotel.
