Statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) show that in the first seven months of 2022, Vietnam served 954,600 foreign tourists, up nine folds compared to the same period last year. In July alone, the nation welcomed 352,600 foreign visitors, up 49% month-on-month. Foreign tourists to Vietnam over the recent past mainly came from the Asia-Pacific region, prominently in the top 10 markets being the Republic of Korea with 196,200 arrivals, up 903.7% year-on-year; the US 102,900, up 5,382%; and Japan 46,000, up 794.6%. Malaysian finance minister warns of risks to recovery

Vietnam reports 1,381 new COVID-19 cases on August 7

Cuu Long JOC oil production likely to hit 400 million barrels this year

Cuu Long JOC - comprising Petro Vietnam , ConocoPhillips, KNOC, SK Corporation, and Geopetrol - is the second-biggest oil producer in Vietnam that was established in 1998. According to Cuu Long JOC Director Nguyen Van Que , as of 2011, the firm had paid 11.9 billion USD to the State budget, and posted a revenue of 27.3 billion USD. In the first seven months of this year, the company installed underground pumps and successfully drilled two more wells. Therefore, the firm expects to pay 864 million USD to the State budget this year, he said. Amendments to draft revised land law expected to be done in 2023: NA Chairman

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The draft Law on Land (revised) will be tabled for discussion for the first time by the 15th National Assembly during its fourth session and the amendments would be completed within 2023, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said at a working session with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in Hanoi on August 8. He asked the Government to send the dossier of the draft law to the NA Committee for Economic Affairs and the NA Standing Committee before September 1 to seek feedback from full-time legislators. The MoNRE should work harder to build reports on economic, social, environmental impacts as well as impacts on national defence and security, and the domestic business environment.
