Vietnam has seen a recent rise in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths due to the appearance of new Omicron sub-variants. On Thursday, Vietnam recorded 3,295 Covid-19 cases, the highest figure for the past three months. The country also reported a total of around 15,000 Covid-19 infections over the past three days. An additional 2,983 more Covid-19 infections were confirmed in Vietnam on Friday, raising the country's total tally to over 11 million, according to the Ministry of Health. On August 19, an additional 6,975 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 10.05 million.
