Vietnam Airlines licensed to operate extended flight range
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has licensed Vietnam Airlines to operate Extended Diversion Time Operations (EDTOs) aircraft with two engines, reaching 207 minutes for Boeing 787-9 aircraft and 240 minutes for Airbus A350 aircraft. EDTO are any operation by an airplane with two or more turbine engines where the diversion time to an en-route alternate aerodrome is greater than the threshold time established by the State of the Operator, according to a definition by the International Civil Aviation Organization. For example, if an aircraft is rated for EDTO-180, it means that it is able to fly with full load and just one engine for three hours. The higher the EDTO rate of an airline’s aircraft is, the farther the aircraft can fly away from the alternate airport, helping the carrier to arrange a shorter, more direct route, saving time and fuel. Famous painter’s works on display for first time

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Sixty works by late famous painter Bui Xuan Phai, many of which were created toward the end of his life, are on display in Ho Chi Minh City. The oil and gouache works are showcased at the exhibition “ Remember Painter Bui Xuan Phai ,” according to Tran Hau Tuan, a collector and the organiser of the event which is scheduled to run to July 4. Around 90% of the works are shown for the first time ever, Tuan said, adding he intended to open the exhibition in 2020 to coincide with Phai’s 100th birth anniversary but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tuan has been collecting the works of many famous artists since the 1980s and has great passion for Phai’s. Vietnam becomes major supplier of farm produce to UK
Speaking at ‘UK Market: Unlocking great potential by leveraging advantages of the UKVFTA,’ Oliver Todd, British consul general in HCM City, said Vietnam could replace other countries such as India and Indonesia as a major supplier of agricultural and aquaculture products to his country. Todd, who is also director of UK Trade and Investment in Vietnam, said Vietnamese exporters should be well prepared if they want to boost exports to the choosy market.
