According to the latest economic update by World Bank (WB) for Vietnam, the country’s economy expanded 5.2% in Q4 of 2021, and respectively 5.1% and 7.7% in Q1 and Q2 of 2022. Inflation is projected to average 3.8% over the year. Hanoi (VNA) – Four member companies of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) have been named in the list of the top 50 listed firms in Vietnam in 2022 compiled by Forbes Vietnam . They are Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas), PetroVietnam General Service Joint Stock Corporation (Petrosetco), PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Corporation (PVFCCo), and PetroVietnam Camau Fertilizer JSC. PV Gas is at the ninth place in the list this year. This is the 10th consecutive year that the company has been honoured in the list. Vietnam spends 4.9% of GDP on education: report
Le Anh Vinh, head of the institute, said investment in education rose every year during the period. The government typically spends 17-18% of the budget on education every year on average, which is higher even than countries like the U.S. (13%), Indonesia (17.5%) and Singapore (19.9%), he said. In GDP terms, Vietnam's 4.9% outlay is higher than neighboring countries like Cambodia (1.9%), Singapore (2.9%) and Laos's (3.3%). The 2019 Law on Education stipulates that the government should spend at least 20% of the budget on education and training. Vinh pointed out two things: "Spending on education has not reached 20%. [Besides,] while the percentage might seem big, its absolute value in reality is small." The rate is likely to drop after Covid-19 since the pandemic has affected every aspect of society and the economy, he said. Hanoi adopts five-year public investment plan
According to the municipal People’s Committee, the disbursement of public capital of a number of projects has lagged behind schedule, with some stagnant projects in the 2016-2020 period cancelled. Meanwhile, the demand for middle-term public investment remains huge. In March, the committee asked local departments, districts and investors to make updates and adjustments to the city's plan. Vietnam’s peacekeepers install security fencing in Abu Qussa

The fencing, made from 127 Y-shaped and 126 I-shaped columns, lies about 500km away from the unit’s position. The observation station was placed here to monitor how concerned parties observe peace agreements along the border. As the Vietnamese unit boasted an efficient approach and close coordination with others of the mission and worked on weekends, the installation had been finished after 14 days, six days ahead the initial plan.
