Vietnam U23s are scheduled to face their archrivals Thailand U23s in the final of men’s football at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi on Sunday evening. The highly-anticipated match will begin at 7:00 pm on Sunday at My Dinh National Stadium in the capital city and will be aired on VTV6 Channel, FPT Play, and ONFootball. Experts considered that Vietnam U23s and their Thai peers as neck and neck, and that any team can win if making good use of their opportunities. Some believed that the Golden Stars, who are defending their SEA Games gold medal, will triumph and seize the gold medal thanks to their home field advantage. Doctor warns parents of Japanese encephalitis during summer in northern Vietnam
Parents in northern Vietnam should pay close attention to their children’s health during summertime, as such diseases as Japanese encephalitis can become more common during this time of the year, a Hanoi-based doctor advised. Children often catch mosquito-borne diseases, as well as those transmitted through the digestive and respiratory tracts in summer, Dr. Dao Huu Nam, head of the intensive care unit at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital in Hanoi, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper. Hand, foot, and mouth disease and Japanese encephalitis are among the common illnesses during the season, Nam noted. The Vietnam National Children’s Hospital often received Japanese encephalitis patients in March or April of previous years, the doctor continued, adding that no cases have been documented at the infirmary so far this year. The rise of the savvy Gen Z investor
Illustration by Trịnh Lập by An Phương The latest kids on the demographic block, Generation Z (1997 onwards), have had a lot happen in a short amount of time. This shapes their approach to life. One interesting impact of this approach can be seen in their investing habits. I recently had a chat with some of my younger friends on their financial plans and goals. The insights from the conversations were rewarding. Growing up, I was used to seeing my mother trading in gold and real estate but never in my early twenties did I consider doing the same. Not so with Gen Z. They are more sophisticated, financially, and start their investing journey very early. Anh Huy, 25, told me that he bought a small apartment and put it up for sale two months ago. “I was able to buy my first apartment with profits from trading in shares, salary from a 9-5 job and savings from my parents. I did borrow some money from the bank, but it wasn’t much. HCM City is a fast growing city and I have … [Read more...] about The rise of the savvy Gen Z investor

Two local men riding a jet ski at high speed died after their vessel crashed into a barge on the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this week. The hard collision caused both men to fall into the river when their jet ski was running at high speed from the Rach Chiec Bridge to the Saigon Bridge, according to initial police reports. Some people on the barge threw life jackets toward the men while a fisherman nearby was rushing his motorboat to the scene for rescue but both men had died.
