Vietnam, Hungary to sign new parliamentary cooperation agreement
Hungary was the first European Union state to approve the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). Vietnam and Hungary are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation between the two parliaments in replacement of the one inked in 2008. Vietnam rescues 400 citizens tricked to work illegally in Cambodia
So far this year, authorities in Vietnam and Cambodia have worked together to verify cases in which Vietnamese people had been taken to Cambodia by human traffickers. The collaboration resulted in nearly 400 Vietnamese being rescued and brought home, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told press Sunday. In recent times, it has been increasingly reported that many Vietnamese had been tricked to work in Cambodia. In most cases, trafficking rings advertised their services on Facebook and Zalo, a Vietnamese texting and calling app, targeting people of working age but without stable jobs, promising a career with a monthly salary of up to thousands of dollars. Nam San 3A hydropower plant was initially owned by Lao-based Phongsubthavy Group but was sold to Thai BCPG Niwat Adirek, president and CEO of BCPG, disclosed that the company had achieved more than 90 per cent progress on the construction of the 220-kV transmission line project, Nam Tai, in Laos. Just days after arriving in Abyei, the unit set up two teams for emergency road rescue and repair activities along roads in the northern division - a border area between Sudan and South Sudan. The unit also took over the construction of a workshop for repairing and maintaining equipment, cars and motorbikes of the UN peacekeeping mission, which the first group of the unit had been working on since early May. In 2020-2021, despite being heavily affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam’s GDP still maintained positive growth, mainly thanks to the growth of import-export and investment, especially foreign direct investment.
