The Vietnam Fashion Week 2010, which was held in Hanoi from April 23 to 25, spotlighted around 1,000 designs of the Fall-Winter collections. The shows brought together 30 professional and amateur Vietnamese designers, such as Minh Hanh, Trong Nguyen, Thien Trang, Kieu Viet Lien and Huynh Hai Long, the winner of the last year's Vietnam Collection Grand Prix Contest. New fashion designs for 2008 and handicrafts created by two Vietnamese designers, Ngo Thai Uyen and Uyen My, have won accolades in Taipei at the Style 2008 fashion fair held in the Taiwan Exhibition Center, Taiwan (China) from July 10th-14th. Ngo Thai Uyen and Uyen My are designers from NTU Design. They were invited by the Taiwan Textile Federation to join the over 200-pavillion fair along with other designers from big fashion trademarks from Asia and the world. Ngo Thai Uyen and Uyen My won third place in the International Design Awards in 2007, given to professional designers by the International Apparel Foundation. As Ngo Thai Uyen said, the presence of NTU Design’s products in such a fair was a good chance to seek co-operation and development of Vietnam’s fashion trademarks in Asia.
