Talk gives young Lao people insight into traditional relations with Vietnam

Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Vietnam

Dong Nai boosts cooperation with Cambodia’s provinces
Dong Nai province currently has three enterprises investing in five projects in Cambodia. Since 2021, Dong Nai has provided 36 full-ride scholarships for Cambodian students. Every year, the province conducts meaningful activities to celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival for Cambodian students, among others. 44 caught using drugs in Dak Lak bars
Bar 47 on Buon Ma Thuot Town's Che Lan Vien Street and Bar Monaco on Ly Thai To Street were blasting music when police officers rushed in. Crowds of customers tried to escape but were all detained. Packers containing drugs were found littering the floor. A gun loaded with 25 bullets was also found in Bar Monaco, hidden under the chair of 32-year-old Tran Tien Dung. Dung and other suspects were taken to the police station, where Dung confessed to have bought the firearm for VND3 million ($129) in Cambodia in 2016 for self-defense. A quick drug test revealed 44 people testing positive for narcotics. S. Korean firms in Ho Chi Minh City seek help to ease rising cost burden
The president of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM) has asked the Ho Chi Minh City government to assist South Korean enterprises in alleviating their cost burden in the current difficult period. KOCHAM President Shon Young Il made the request at a dialogue session between the city government and South Korean enterprises, held on Friday by local authorities in coordination with the Consulate General of South Korea in the southern metropolis. Speaking at the event, chaired by the municipal People’s Committee chairman Phan Van Mai, the KOCHAM leader said Korean businesses are facing a lot of pressure while trying to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and cope with impacts caused by the ongoing Russian-Ukraine military conflict and the inflation risk. HCM City works to clear hurdles for RoK investors

Additional 657 Covid-19 infections announced on Saturday
An additional 657 new Covid-19 infections were confirmed on Saturday, raising the national tally to over 10.74 million, according to the Ministry of Health. Illustrative photo According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 35 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (169), Bac Ninh (53), Phu Tho (45), Yen Bai (43), and Lao Cai (34). As of Saturday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.74 million. On June 25, an additional 5,239 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.64 million. On Saturday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were announced. Total fatalities stayed at 43,084, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.
