TSFC is a program to boost initiatives of developing the aviation industry which was launched by SkyTeam, a global airline alliance with members being the world's large airlines. The program aims to find airlines operating the most eco-friendly commercial flight along with the most sustainable development. The airlines will be assessed on 14 items by International Examiner Council, experts, leaders of the aviation sector. The winner shall be honored at a special event in this June. The Sustainable Flight Challenge has attracted participation of 16 airlines from different countries, including the United States, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, China, the Republic of Korea and so on. On the previous day, Norliyana Kamarruddin of Malaysia took the lead in the women’s heptathlon with 3,237 points and became a strong contender for the gold. Nguyen Linh Na ranked second with 3,231 points. Na still followed Kamarruddin in long jump on May 17, leading to an 18-point gap with 3,960 points for the former and 3,978 points for the latter. The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has proposed to the National Assembly (NA) to allow Vietnamese people aged 18 to use casinos. Vietnam to lift pre-entry COVID-19 test requirements for entrants on May 15
Vietnam will remove the pre-entry COVID-19 test requirements for all foreign arrivals starting Sunday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed. The direction, effective at 0:00 on May 15, comes as the numbers of COVID-19 infections and deaths drop both in Vietnam and around the world. In a dispatch issued on Friday, the PM cited the World Health Organization as announcing that the COVID-19 pandemic has tended to reduce in both patient numbers and fatalities on a global scale and that basic vaccines are still effective against variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In such context, many countries have been taking steps to ease COVID-19 restrictions, including removal of pre-entry testing, the document said. Vietnam drops COVID-19 test requirement for foreign arrivals from May 15
The move came as the number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam has decreased significantly since March 15 this year, according to an official document issued by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on May 14. The document also noted that the country has also seen a decreasing number of COVID-19 deaths, severe cases, and hospitalizations. Many countries have also relaxed COVID-19 curbs while existing vaccines are still effective against different variants of coronavirus. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is asked to direct Vietnamese agencies abroad to notify people wishing to enter Vietnam to comply with requirements on COVID-19 prevention and control as per the guidance of the Ministry of Health. (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – A total 1,594 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours from 4pm May 13 to 4pm May 15, a reduction of 301 infections against the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health. Hanoi reported the highest number of infections on the day with 461 cases, followed by Quang Ninh with 88, Nghe An 80 and Yen Bai 80. The national tally reached 10,696,630. A total 5,448 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear on May 15, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,355,040. There was no death reported on the day.
