This year continues to witness a wave of investments into Vietnamese start-ups, with millions of dollars of money announced. This is the list of 10 start-ups with highest investment based on public investment information, site ndh.vn reported. Some start-ups are believed to have successfully raised capital from US$75 million to $300 million, but specific amounts were not disclosed. 1 Sendo E-commerce platform Sendo of Sen Đỏ Technology JSC completed a $61 million Series C funding round. Besides previous investors, this round of fundraising has the participation of two new investors, Indonesian EV Growth and Thai Kasikornbank. Last year, Sendo successfully mobilised $51 million in Series B round. Transport ministry urges pedestrian bridge review
A pedestrian bridge on Chua Boc street in Hanoi (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The has ordered the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to review all pedestrian bridges nationwide to prevent further accidents. The move came after a truck driver high on drugs last week crashed into pedestrians walking along National Highway No.5 running through Kim Luong commune in Hai Duong province. Eight people were killed and seven others were injured. The deadly accident occurred just 100m from a pedestrian bridge which connects Kim Thanh commune’s villages along the highway. The area around the bridge is an accident black spot. One person was killed just last month. The stairs leading to the bridge are located right next to the highway. To reach the staircase, pedestrians have no choice but have to walk on the highway where cars travel at speeds of up to 80km per hour.
