15 more Covid-19 infection cases reported in Hai Duong Province

15 more people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in Vietnam, raising the total number of patients in the country to 2,362, the Ministry of Health reported on Friday evening.

According to the ministry’s report, all of the new patients are infected in the community in the Covid-19 hotspot of Hai Duong Province.

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,362, including 1,463 locally-transmitted cases with 770 cases reported since the new outbreak started in Hai Duong on January 28. Hai Duong Province alone has recorded 590 cases.

As of 6 pm on February 19, a total of 1,627 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, as many as 139,446 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.

Nine new Covid-19 infection cases reported in Hai Duong

Nine more people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in Vietnam’s Covid-19 hotspot of Hai Duong Province, raising the total number of patients in the country to 2,412, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday evening.

According to the ministry’s report, all of the new patients are from Hai Duong Province.

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,412, including 1,504 locally-transmitted cases with 820 cases reported since the new outbreak started in Hai Duong on January 28. Hai Duong Province alone has recorded 636 cases.

As of 6 pm on February 24, a total of 1,790 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, as many as 88,583 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.

HCMC – The Ministry of Health this evening, February 10, confirmed 20 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases and one imported case in four localities including HCMC, Quang Ninh, Gia Lai and Hai Duong, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 2,091.

HCMC reported one imported case, a 31-year-old Indonesian expert arriving at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Flight SQ178 on February 7, and one domestic case, a 29-year-old man in Tan Binh District who had close contact with the 1,979th patient. They are being treated at Cu Chi field hospital.

Quang Ninh Province had one new patient, a 30-year-old woman residing in Halong City who came into contact with the 1,563rd patient. The woman is undergoing treatment at Quang Ninh Province Hospital No. 2.

Four new cases in Gia Lai Province, aged between 27 and 39, live in Ia Pa District. They had close contact with either the 1,875th or the 1,891st patient. The patients have been sent to Gia Lai Province General Hospital.

Hai Duong Province recorded the largest number of infections, with 14 new cases.

Since January 28, as many as 504 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in 13 cities and provinces.

The country is quarantining over 114,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or came home from Covid-19-hit countries and territories. More than 19,000 of them are at quarantine centers, some 700 others at hospitals, and the remainder at home.

HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has amounted to 2,395 cases as of this morning, February 23, with three fresh cases by community transmission recorded in the northern province of Hai Duong, which is now the country’s biggest coronavirus hotspot, said the Health Ministry.

These new cases were linked to a coronavirus cluster in Kim Lien Commune of the province’s Kim Thanh District. They had been taken to a quarantine facility before and are now under treatment at the Field Hospital No.2 at the Hai Duong Medical Technical University.

Data from the ministry’s national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control showed that the deadly disease has hit 13 provinces and cities during the latest coronavirus wave, with Hai Duong reporting the highest number of patients at 620, followed by Quang Ninh, HCMC, Hanoi, Gia Lai.

Overall, 803 locally-infected cases have been recorded since January 27, raising the nation’s total number of community cases to 1,496 to date.

Further, 1,717 patients have been declared free of the virus, while fatalities remained at 35.

HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has amounted to 2,403 cases as of this morning, February 24, with two fresh cases by community transmission recorded in the northern province of Hai Duong, said the Ministry of Health.

The two new cases were linked to the Covid-19 cluster in Poyun Company in Chi Linh City. They had been quarantined before testing positive for Covid-19 and are now under treatment at the Field Hospital No.1 – Chi Linh City Medical Center.

According to the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control, Covid-19 has hit 13 provinces and cities in the latest outbreak, with Hai Duong reporting the highest number of patients at 627, followed by Quang Ninh, HCMC, Hanoi and Gia Lai.

Up to now, 1,760 Covid-19 patients in the country have fully recovered, including 43 people discharged from the hospital today. Among the active cases, 60 people have tested negative for Covid-19 for three times and 39 others tested negative twice.

More than 88,000 people that had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned to Vietnam from Covid-19-hit countries are being quarantined, with around 600 of them at hospitals.

No Covid-19 cases reported this morning

HCMC – Vietnam reported no new Covid-19 cases this morning, February 17, keeping the country’s tally unchanged at 2,311, according to the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control.

Since January 27, the country has had 719 locally-transmitted cases. Over 145,920 people are under quarantine, with 584 people quarantined at hospitals.

Among 699 active cases, 20 have tested negative for Covid-19 three times while 29 others’ test results came back negative twice.

In related news, HCMC lifted a lockdown on nine more areas yesterday, February 16. 12 others in Binh Tan, Go Vap, Tan Binh districts, District 3 and Thu Duc City are still under lockdown.
