(VOVworld) – The US asked China not to escalate tensions in the international airspace after Japan accused China of conducting “dangerous actions” in disputed East Sea areas. US State of Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said Thursday that Washington doesn’t recognise the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in the East Sea unilaterally, which was established by China last November and urges Beijing to renounce it. US warns China against escalating tensions over ADIZ
(VOVworld)- US Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday warned that China is escalating tension by creating the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in the East China Sea. He also stressed that regional peace and stability is also Beijing’s benefit. Speaking in front of leaders of 60 US enterprises in Beijing, Biden said he considers the ADIZ covering the disputed islands of Senkaku/Diaoyu a major threat to the region. A US federal jury in Pittsburg, Pensylvania, on Monday charged Chinese military officials of spying on US enterprises. An announcement from US Attorney General Eric Holder said that the 5 Chinese charged officials worked for the Chinese People‘s Liberation Army (PLA) in Unit 61398, Department 3, and have not been to the US. The US said that these military officials had hacked the computer systems of US enterprises to steal designs of nuclear factory, solar energy production cycles, and trade confidential. The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Qin Gang, dismissed US accusations and said that they would jeopardise mutual co-operation and trust between the two countries.
