Hanoi approves more than 1 billion USD for Ring Road No. 4 project

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi - The Hanoi People's Council for the term 2021 - 2026 on May 20 agreed to spend 23.5 trillion VND (over 1 billion USD) from the city budget for the Ring Road No. 4 project. The council also discussed the allocation and adjustment of the project's fund, which would be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration, said the chairman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan. Duong Duc Tuan, vice chairman of Hanoi's People's Committee, said that the Ring Road No. 4 was a key national project, combining the public investment model and the public-private partnership (PPP) with a Build - Operate - Transfer (BOT) contract. The nuclear power program had stopped in 2016. Now there is still need for coal-fired thermal power, and domestic coal is not enough for this, so it is necessary to import foreign coal. By 2025, more and more coal will be needed, while domestic exploitation is becoming stagnant, so coal will continue to be imported. Viet Nam’s handicraft products win UNESCO prize
Three handicraft products made by Vietnamese artisans have won the "Seal of Excellence" 2006 prize of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The prize winners, including two pottery vases produced by the Tran Minh Kinh and Chuc Hung pottery kilns and a lacquer bowl by the Kim Ma workshop, were selected from 13 entries submitted from Viet Nam . Chu Shiu-kee, Chief UNESCO Representative in Viet Nam , said the result proved that Vietnamese handicraft products have met with international standards and should gain more opportunities in the world market.
