USAID IPSC Project connects Vietnamese enterprises with e-commerce giants
From May 24 to June 30, the Vietnam Private Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project (USAID IPSC), has organised a 5-week training course called “E-commerce – a must in Industry 4.0”, as part of its cross-cutting market expansion support package for Vietnamese businesses. At the end of the course, participants attended the event “Connecting business with domestic and international e-commerce platforms” to learn from successful, real-world experiences from e-commerce platforms including Amazon Global Selling and Shopee. According to Nguyen Thi To Uyen, head of the building business management capacity at USAID IPSC, the project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment as the government partner. Hanoi welcomes over 8.6 million visitors in first half of 2022
The result comes from the fact that Hanoi authorities made good use of opportunities such as the 31st Southeast Asian Games. Hanoi’s tourism sector welcomed 8.61 million visitors in the first six months of 2022, an increase of nearly three times year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism. The arrival number is estimated to hit 211 thousand while that of domestic tourists is around 8.4 million visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND25.2 trillion (around US$1 billion), up more than three times compared to the same period in 2021. The average room occupancy in hotels rated with stars is estimated at more than 30%, an increase of 6.11% year on year. In June alone, room occupancy is around 42.9%, down 2.3% compared to May but up 17.2% over the same period in 2021. Do Hung Viet, Assistant to the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks while attending the annual debate on women’s rights at the HRC’s 50th regular session in Geneva on June 27. In his speech, Viet highlighted the important role of women, stressing the need to ensuring their rights and development opportunities through specific and effective support policies. He also shared Vietnam’s experience and efforts in this regard, noting Vietnam is one of the countries with the longest maternity leaves in the world. About 8.61 million tourists visited Hanoi in the first half of this year, marking a three-time jump over the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism. Some 211,300 of the visitors are foreigners. The Vietnamese capital city’s total tourism revenue in the January-June period amounted to approximately VND25.2 trillion (US$1.08 billion), more than three times the figure in the first six months of 2021. Local hotels rated 1-5 stars recorded an average occupancy rate of over 30 percent during the period, up 6.11 percent year on year, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
