Hoping to share their mantra – 'If you love Vietnam, love its environment, too' – the two men launched A Little Vietnam, their personal initiative to spread public awareness of responsible tourism. Tan and Tuan came up with the idea for a cross-country environmental awareness journey after social media users praised a video they made in Dak Lak Province, in which … [Read more...] about Traveling duo plant hope for ‘greener’ Vietnam

Historic milestone in Vietnam-Laos combat alliance
In 1972, the war situation and victories gained by Lao and Vietnamese forces were the basis for the two countries’ central military commissions to forecast that the enemy would conduct an offensive to recapture the Plain of Jars so as to disintegrate and threaten the liberated zone of Laos. As a result, the Lao Central Military Commission studied the situation carefully, discussed with the Central Military Commission of Vietnam and agreed with the Vietnamese counterpart to open a defensive campaign in the Plain of Jars. The campaign aimed to destroy an important part of the enemy and change the balance of forces in favor of the Lao revolutionary forces in their political struggle. The hotel's kitchen had to serve the five teams with special nutritional requirements keeping in mind their religious faiths and preferences. Nguyen Van Chien, the hotel's manager, said that the three main meals for the teams were served as a buffet of 60-70 dishes. For example, the Indonesian team wanted masala fried eggs, which the team leader said suited the nutritional needs of the players. Some of the Indonesian players were Muslims who don’t eat pork, so their meals had to be adjusted accordingly. For the Thai team, the hotel’s chefs served stir-fried noodles with special spices. Before the meal, the Thai team sent a player to the kitchen to provide guidance and instructions.
