Thanh Hoa to build mini Lam Kinh with VND114 bil. The construction of a mini version of VND114.8 billion Lam Kinh Historical Relic in Xuan Lam Commune has been approved by authorities in Thanh Hoa Province, reports VietnamPlus. The project will mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. Over the next five years, the sanctum area of the original Lam Kinh will also be restored to its former beauty during Le Trung Hung and Le dynasties. The restoration will use precious wood and meticulous carvings of dragon images and patterns. For nearly 600 years, Lam Kinh historical relic has been synonymous with national hero Le Loi, the leader of the resounding Lam Son uprising. Construction of Lam King began in 1433, immediately following the death of King Le Thai To, the first ruler of the Le Dynasty. Building a second capital, with monuments and mausoleums in Lam Son strengthened the loyalty of the people to the King and the reigning family. VN, India step up textiles ties Textile industry representatives from Viet Nam and India gathered in Nam Dinh City yesterday to exchange information on opportunities for co-operation, especially the potential strengths of textiles in both countries. About 160 businesses from the two countries took part in the seminar-workshop which the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organised in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Viet Nam, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Indian Business Association in Viet Nam. Do Huu Huy, an official of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said diversification in the supply of textile materials and the sustainable development of the Vietnamese garments industry was not dependent on a particular market. with Robert Bicknell First off, I need to apologise to someone whose name appeared in last week's column. It was a mistake to use his actual name - despite the story being in public domain as most of the golf community knows the story and who was involved. I should have asked if he minded being named. However, as he has appeared in the column in the past without complaint, I assumed (always dangerous) that there would be no issue with it. I was wrong. My apologies. It was obviously also a mistake in describing him as a friend. Rest assured neither mistake will happen again. Now then, with many new courses either under development or currently launching, the golf scene in Viet Nam is going to see some exciting changes in the next 12-36 months. The local golf industry has been motoring along quietly for the last few years with good to moderate growth and little fanfare.
