Central region introduces priority tourism investment wish-list
Cau Vang (Golden Bridge), a new icon of tourism in Danang A workshop presenting priority investment projects in several localities in the central region and the importance of Industry 4.0 in hotel investment and operation took place on November 2 in Danang. The workshop, hosted by the central region's Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Centre, attracted more than 100 corporate entities. Lào Cai develops tourism based on local ethnic cultures
LÀO CAI — Local authorities in the northern province of Lào Cai have decided to develop tourism based on local ethnic cultures. “Local ethnic cultures are considered a key to encourage the province’s socio-economic development,” said Hà Văn Thắng, director of Lào Cai Province’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department. According to the province’s plan to develop culture and sport in 2016-20, preserving and developing ethnic identity, improving people’s spirit and material lives is the key mission in order to establish new rural areas, smart urban areas and sustainably eradicate hunger. Lào Cai is now ranked among top areas of the country with the most number of cultural heritages. The province hosts 26 intangible cultural heritages approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Conquering Po Ma Lung Mountain
Po Ma Lung in Lai Chau Province is among Vietnam’s top 10 tallest mountains, attracting scores of climbers with its challenging route. The mountain, 2,967 metres high, is located in Lang Village in Phong Tho District in the mountainous northern region. It is infamous for its length and roughness, with its first pitstop accessible after a trek of eight to nine hours. From Lang Village, visitors walk about 5 km along the hillside before reaching the foot of Po Ma Lung, from which climbers ascend 20 km to the top. The road hugs local irrigation channels before skirting a mighty waterfall.
