A Vietnam-Taiwan textile and garment industry exhibition will open on August 23 in Ho Chi Minh City. (Photo: Vinexad) The event is jointly held in both in-person and virtual forms by Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad), A Vinexad representative said around 60 Vietnamese garment makers and exporters and 13 Taiwanese textile producers, including those already operating factories in Vietnam, will participate in the event. Vietnamese enterprises hope to seek suppliers capable to meet their needs for quality fabric in making garment for the domestic market and export at the event. Full-time legislators look into draft law on implementing democracy at grassroots levels
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the N.A.’s Committee for Legal Affairs Hoang Thanh Tung said following feedback, the draft law now has 7 chapters and 79 articles, up 5 articles from the version submitted at the N.A.’s third meeting. It also upholds the role of every citizen in overseeing activities of officials and cadres to uncover and fight corruption and negative behaviors, optimize democracy, and increase public responsiveness in the implementation of democracy at grassroots levels, he said. Regulations on the establishment of people’s inspection committees at all grassroots levels were also mentioned in the draft law to ensure fairness in the non-State sector. Although the country has offered unilateral visa exemption and e-visas, the policy is not competitive enough as the 15-day visa exemption has yet to satisfy the need of visitors from such markets as Europe, North America and Australia, who often stay from three to four weeks in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Culture , Sports and Tourism (MCST). Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said the ministry should propose the Government instruct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expand the list of countries and territories qualified for visa exemption and e-visa, and restore visa granting at border gates. Quang Ninh revives OCOP product promotion to boost post-pandemic recovery
