Speaking to the Soc Trang Province’s Election Council yesterday, Trong said voters’ expectations of candidates for the up coming 12th NA were very high. "They must be intelligent, have a good moral base and be capable, according to voters," said Trong. Manchester United winger Park Ji-Sung will arrive Ho Chi Minh City on June 15 for a friendship match to raise fund for Asian young talented footballers. The match is part of the Dream Asia Tour programme, jointly held by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Korea Football Association (KFA) and Park’s company. Park will team with former Japanese midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata, Bolton Wanderer’s former winger Lee Chung-Yong and his mate Patrice Evra. On January 11th, South African Airways announced that it has assigned the East Sea Air Travel as its agent in Vietnam and planned to work with local travel agencies to carry Vietnamese passengers to South Africa and Africa. Lucian Hsing, Sales-Director of South African Airways in Southeast Asia, said that Vietnam is a potential market. At present, the airline operates no direct flight to Vietnam, so passengers from Hanoi or HCMC will take flights on its partners to Hong Kong, and then continue with South African Airways. by Robert Bicknell Recently, some people on LinkedIn were bemoaning the fact that Malaysia had few, if any, professional players on the major Tours, but this applies to most Asian countries as well, and not surprisingly, the reasons are pretty much the same. Let me also qualify my statement by saying this is about male professionals, not the ladies because Korean and Japanese females have dominated on the LPGA for a long time, and even now China is making strong inroads as well. So, why can Asian lady professional golfers make it big in the US while Asian males cannot? First of all, most of the top Asian ladies went to university in the US, so they were exposed to some of the top coaches in the US. Colleges and universities in the US take their sports quite seriously and there is big money involved, so they employ the best coaches they can find.
