Additional 1,550 Covid-19 infections announced on Monday
The number of new Covid-19 infections continued to drop with 1,550 cases recorded on Monday, down 46 cases from the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 48 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (437), Bac Ninh (98), Yen Bai (76), Quang Ninh (75), and Nghe An (64). As of Monday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.70 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. On May 16, an additional 4,723 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.35 million. The project is expected to be implemented in three years, from 2022 to 2025. The project scope is in the Nha Trang - Saigon section of the North-South railway line, with the starting point at Nha Trang Station (Km1314+930) and the ending point at Saigon Station (Km1726+200), with a total length of about 411 kilometers. Specifically, the project will renovate and upgrade five weak bridges on the route; renovate and upgrade the upper layer architecture of nine degraded sections, with a total length of more than 87 kilometers.
