Illustrative image. (Photo: SGGP) The People's Committee of HCMC said that the disbursement rate of the Public Investment Plan in 2022 is not much compared to previous years due to many difficulties and obstacles, but mainly the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. The restart of the construction of projects in the first months of 2022 experienced a certain delay after the time the city adopted measures to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, input costs were unstable and tended to increase. Besides the above objective reasons, the People's Committee of HCMC also raised some other subjective reasons affecting the disbursement progress of public investment capital, for example, difficulties related to site clearance; it is necessary to have time to carry out the project adjustment procedures on the basis of Resolution No.99/NQ-HDND dated October 19, 2021, of the People's Council of HCMC and Decision No.4354/QD-UBND dated December 28, 2021, on the medium-term capital … [Read more...] about HCMC disburses only 17 percent of public investment capital in first six months

COVID-19 testing (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Health has proposed considering COVID-19 a Group A infectious disease , not an endemic disease in its latest draft on COVID-19 prevention and control measures in the new situation. Per the draft, Vietnam is still in the transition period between pandemic prevention and sustainable management. Regarding the reason why COVID-19 has not been considered an endemic disease in Vietnam yet, the Ministry of Health said that most countries in the world are in a state of unstable cases and deaths, with an erratic increase and decrease trend when new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus appear. At the same time, acquired immunity (due to vaccines and infection) has not been stable for a long time and decreases over time. As a result, the application of epidemic prevention and control measures should be flexible and gradually moves towards the "new normal". June 28, 2022 by e.vnexpress.net Leave a Comment

"As the monsoon rains fall in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, savvy travelers in Vietnam head to the central coast where the weather is dry and warm," the magazine said. Hoi An, a 400-year-old town that used to be the busiest trading port in Southeast Asia in the 16th century, is an ideal place where tourists are able to step back in time, it said. "In Hoi An, lantern-strewn streets reveal Chinese temples and ancient tea-houses." Once a convergence point for Chinese traders, it's not difficult to see ancient temples and assembly halls with a touch of Chinese architecture that worship red-faced General Quan Cong (Guan Yu), an eminent figure in the Three Kingdoms legend and China’s ancient civil war. Time Out also suggested visitors leave Hoi An and laze on the stretches of white sandy beaches around Da Nang before conquering Hai Van Pass on a motorbike tour, and visit Hue’s Imperial Citadel that used to witness the ups and downs of Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam’s last royal family.
