Flights from South Korea to Vietnam’s tourist hotspots resume
On Friday, the carrier flew 40 passengers from Cam Ranh International Airport near Nha Trang beach town to South Korea's Incheon International Airport, marking the resumption of the service after over two years of Covid suspension. The same day, 160 passengers flying from Incheon also landed at Cam Ranh. Vietjet said there will be three weekly flights on the route on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. On Saturday, it also resumed the service between Phu Quoc Island and Seoul with five flights a week. It plans to restart its Hai Phong-Seoul service from Thursday with three weekly flights. South Korea will resume issuance of three-month visas and e-visas to Vietnamese tourists from June 1 after over two years of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The airline's revenue recovered, but its equity was still VND2.16 trillion as of March 31, 2022 In the revenue structure, domestic transportation revenue grew by 96.5 per cent and international transportation increased by 71 per cent. According to the financial report, the net revenue increased by 56 per cent over the same period last year, but Vietnam Airlines still suffered a gross loss of nearly VND1.6 trillion. Compared to the same period, gross losses decreased by 47 per cent. This year, the firm had a further income of VND121 billion dong from the liquidation of aircraft and the sale and leaseback of aircraft engines. However, some technical infrastructure has not been fully moved. The total expense for construction until now has reached VND20,087 billion ($867 million), accounting for 35.4 percent of the contract value, and 0.7 percent later than the planned one. The disbursement volume for the four projects to be completed this year is 53.4 percent of the contract value, which is 2.6 percent later than expected. The returned provision for devaluation in investments also contributed VND3.4 trillion to the figure.
