BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — New eco-tourism offerings that include visits to mangrove forests and aquaculture breeding areas promise great potential for the southern coastal province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu to boost its development. Participated in the five-day and four-night eco camp at Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, 35 excellent youth, aged from 18-28 years old, were chosen from approximately 400 candidates throughout Vietnam. They are from companies, youth unions, youth organizations, and university students. At Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, the campers experienced green tourism activities with experts from Gaia Nature Conservation and Bidoup Nui Ba National Park. They experienced the tropical forest to learn about endangered trees and plants, as well as how biodiversity is important to human beings. This is the goal of the province’s master plan on tourism development until 2025, with a vision to 2030. Ninh Binh looks to attract 1 million foreign arrivals and 7 million domestic visitors by 2020, 1.5 million and 9 million by 2025, and 2.1 million and 11.2 million by 2030. Meanwhile, tourism revenue is expected at over 4.2 trillion VND (179.7 million USD), 11.8 trillion VND (504.8 million USD), and 27 trillion VND (1.15 billion USD), respectively. The National Assembly (NA) said last week it would not consider a bill on the special administrative and economic zones (SAEZs) of Van Don, North Van Phong, and Phu Quoc in October as previously scheduled. It said the bill needs further consultation with the public, organizations, experts and scientists, and can be taken up at later.
