Talk Around Town To whom do we entrust our babies? by Hoang Mai Huong When my baby was four months old, I had to cope with a problem faced by other working mothers in Viet Nam and the world over. It was time for me to return to work, but what would happen to my baby during the eight hours a day I spend at the office? Who would take care of her, feed her and change her diaper when it was soaking wet? My baby’s maternal and paternal grandmothers could not take care of her because they also have office careers. Even a good beef noodle is no longer VND8,000. It is VND25,000 now at the same place I used to frequent. A restaurant meal will cost me VND500,000 for two persons and VND1 million for five people. I may be a bit thrifty, but surely inflation is in to stay. My opinion is that inflation is too fast … [Read more...] about Many readers feel the pinch of rising inflation on daily life
