Many fishing boats stay ashore because of increase in petroleum and oil In this official dispatch, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the past time, the fishing industry has played an important role in the development of our country's agriculture, the fishing output in 2021 will reach 3.92 million tons and seafood export turnover reached US$3.435 billion. The fishing industry has offered employment for more than 600,000 fishermen directly and nearly 4 million workers in coastal fisheries services. Tra Vinh province plants forests to protect coasts, improve environment

(Photo: VNA) Tra Vinh (VNS/VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh is growing more forests and strengthening conservation of existing ones. This is meant to protect the environment, adapt to climate change and improve people’s livelihoods, according to the coastal province’s Forest Protection Sub-department. The province plans to plant 2.1 million trees in the 2021-25 period, 1.1 million in urban and rural areas and the rest in 372ha of forests. Nguyen Vu Phuong, head of the sub-department, said 200,000 trees would be planted in forests every year. Tra Vinh is one of the delta’s provinces hardest hit by climate change , especially rising sea levels, which have impacted the environment and the lives of people living in coastal areas. To mitigate the impacts, it has implemented various forest growing programmes in recent years. Synopsis Rice bran oil accounts for a small portion of overall vegoil consumption in India but is one of the fastest-growing among edible oils, industry officials say, and production and imports are set to increase to meet the demand. Rice bran has become a sought-after commodity in India as the world's biggest importer of vegetable oils tries to overcome an edible oil shortage caused by global supply disruptions. Vietnam is predicted with a high growth prospect in the region, at more than 6.5% in 2022, 0.7% higher than the average growth of 5.8% for the whole region. This was a key finding from the Economic Forecast presented by the experts at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Economic Insight Forum Q2. Vietnam was able to bounce back relatively quickly in 2021 compared to the rest of the region.
