To show the determination to ensure safety and complete the work on schedule, a safety oath ceremony was held. Starting in March 2020, the construction has completed 70 per cent of the workload, thereby ensuring its schedule so that the new centre can be completed by the end of this year as committed to the Viet Nam Government. In October 2020, the foundation construction was completed. In April 2021, the work completed 30 per cent of the plan and started construction of the floating structure. By September 2021, 50 per cent of the work has been completed. Samsung completed another major part of the construction of the R&D centre in Hanoi The above ceremony marks the completion of 70 per cent of the workload. Samsung ensures that the construction goes on as planned and expects to take the centre into operation by the end of this year as previously committed to the government. Choi Joo Ho, general director of Samsung Vietnam said, “Through the centre, Samsung targets to foster the study capacity of Vietnamese talents in AI, IoT, big data, and 5G to create a premise for the country to be ahead of the pack with the changes of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” Ho added, “The R&D centre not only proves Samsung’s long-term investment commitment in Vietnam but also shows the group’s determination to support the country in becoming the leading manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia.” The centre has the total investment of $200 million, and the construction was started in March 2020. GE secures first 9HA combined cycle power plant in Vietnam
GE's 9HA turbine promises higher combined-cycle efficiency GE on May 16 announced that it secured an order from Samsung C&T Corporation, the leader of the engineering, procurement, and construction consortium that will provide power generation equipment for PV Power’s Nhon Trach 3 & 4 Power Plant in Ong Keo Industrial Park in the Nhon Trach district. The project marks GE’s first H-Class gas turbine order in Vietnam. Once in commercial operation in 2025, Nhon Trach 3 & 4 are expected to deliver over 1.6GW of electricity and will be the first power plants fueled by LNG in the country. In addition, on May 11, an MoU to improve the efficiency of the existing Nhon Trach 1 power plant and develop long-term cooperation on the maintenance for Nhon Trach 3 & 4 was signed and exchanged between GE and PV Power in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his visit to Washington DC.
