Ten Vietnamese scientists have been included in six fields ranked by Research.com, a reputable scientist ranking website, for their excellence in scientific publishing. The ranking is based on D-index (Discipline H-index), which includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline. It analyzed the data of 166,880 scientists in 24 areas on Microsoft Academic Graph. The ten scientists named in the ranking specialize in six areas - engineering and technology, computer science, environmental science, material science, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and community health. They include four scientists from the Vietnam National University-Hanoi - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son, Prof. Dr. Pham Hung Viet, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Binh Minh. All rated Vietnamese scientists are working at universities, including Vietnam National University and Ton Duc Thang University. A group of 11 Vietnamese scientists was rated by Research.com, the number one research portal for scientists, in six fields namely Engineering and Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Medicine. Ho Chi Minh City’s foreign enclaves settle into ‘new normal’
Since Vietnam officially declared the COVID-19 pandemic under control earlier this year, foreign enclaves in Ho Chi Minh City have, once again, begun to bustle, with old stores resuming their operations and new shops opening every day in commercial spaces that sat unoccupied for months on end. Once Vietnam dropped its on-arrival COVID-19 testing requirement for foreign travelers and reopened its international air routes in mid-May, the number of foreigners entering the country began to increase, paving the way for foreign enclaves in Ho Chi Minh City to return to their pre-pandemic life. In Tan Phong Ward, District 7, home to a significant portion of the South Korean community in Ho Chi Minh City, many stores that shut down between late 2020 and early 2022 are once again open for business, and new shops are moving into commercial spaces that have sat empty for months. Lockdown in Nha Trang leaves beach town desolate
The roundabout in downtown Nha Trang, a top beach destination in the central province of Khanh Hoa, stands idle, allowing a breath of fresh air to pass through the usually congested intersection. Since July 9, the 252-square-kilometer beach town of over 500,000 people entered a 14-day social distancing campaign under government Directive 16, which bans gatherings of more than two people in public and asks people to only leave home for emergencies, buying food and medicine, along with working in factories, production facilities and businesses involved in "essential" goods and services.
