(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The draft Law on Land (revised) will be tabled for discussion for the first time by the 15th National Assembly during its fourth session and the amendments would be completed within 2023, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said at a working session with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in Hanoi on August 8. He asked the Government to send the dossier of the draft law to the NA Committee for Economic Affairs and the NA Standing Committee before September 1 to seek feedback from full-time legislators. The MoNRE should work harder to build reports on economic, social, environmental impacts as well as impacts on national defence and security, and the domestic business environment. Vietnam reports 1,381 new COVID-19 cases on August 7

The new infections brought the country’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 11,347,518. As many as 8,589 patients were declared to free from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 on the day, lifting the total number of recoveries to 9,973,122. Meanwhile, the death toll from the disease was kept at 43,094 as no fatality was reported on August 7, accounting for 0.4% of the total infections. Vietnamese artists accused of raping British girl in Spain still under investigation despite repatriation: foreign ministry
The investigation into a British girl’s accusation that two Vietnamese male artists sexually assaulted her in Spain is still ongoing even though the two men already returned home , the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters on Monday. A local court in Spain returned the passports to the two Vietnamese artists on August 3 after they successfully hired local lawyers to keep contact with the court on their behalf, according to the ministry. “These two citizens already left Spain,” an official of the ministry said. “The investigation of the case is still ongoing.” Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ta Quang Dong confirmed on Monday morning that the two artists arrived in Vietnam.
