The Tokyo Olympian finished first with a time of 3min 48.46sec after his solo performance in the last lap of the race. Hoe Yean Khiew of Malaysia came second with 3:52.03, and Glen Lim Jun Wei of Singapore came third with 3:56.68. The 400m freestyle was not Hoàng's favourite category, but he is the reigning champion and recorded holder (3:49.08). The Vietnamese swimmer finished first with a time of 4:18.10 to take a gold medal. His new record was more than two seconds better than the 4:20.65 he set at the previous Games in the Philippines. It is also the new national record of Việt Nam. Nguyên was left behind in the first 100m butterfly but he came back in the second lap of backstroke and pulled ahead in the last two laps. The record of 55.97m set by Thai athlete Buoban Pamang at the 24th SEA Games in 2007 in Thailand was unbeatable for 15 years. Vietnam documents 1,594 COVID-19 cases on May 15

(Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – A total 1,594 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours from 4pm May 13 to 4pm May 15, a reduction of 301 infections against the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health. Hanoi reported the highest number of infections on the day with 461 cases, followed by Quang Ninh with 88, Nghe An 80 and Yen Bai 80. The national tally reached 10,696,630. A total 5,448 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear on May 15, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,355,040. There was no death reported on the day. By May 14, the country had injected 216,959,400 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including 2,501,303 shots for children from 5 to 11 years old./.
