A requiem is held at the Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda in HCMC's District 10 on August 18 in remembrance of people who died of Covid-19 . Grand requiem held for HCM City’s Covid-19 deceased
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)'s branch in HCM City is holding a grand requiem for local deceased victims of Covid-19. The three-day event started at Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda this morning, August 18. The ceremony saw the participation of Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Acting Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. Most Venerable Thich Le Trang, head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in HCM City, said that it has been a year since HCM City was hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim was to ease the sorrows of the bereaved families and call on people to build a better Ho Chi Minh City and country. Hundreds of Buddhist followers joined the ceremony.
