Originating in Sweden, Spotify is currently the world’s largest music streaming service, with some 157 million users. In Việt Nam, Spotify offers two types of accounts: free and premium (paid) at VNĐ59,000 (US$2.6) per month. Paid users can enjoy better-quality songs without being interrupted by advertisements and download the songs onto their devices, with unlimited skips and other perks. Launched on March 13 in HCM City, the newbie set a high objective for itself: change the way Vietnamese people listen to music. HCMC lauds good medical workers 113 teams and individuals of medical clinics in Ho Chi Minh City were lauded for their achievements in the patriotic emulation movement for 2010-2014. The municipal Department of Health held a meeting on February 12 to appraise 26 teams and 87 individuals for their good performance in the health sector’s emulation movement. At the meeting, the Department also launched the patriotic emulation movement for the next period from 2015 to 2020. The movement will focus on following Uncle Ho’s teaching that a good doctor must be a good mother to fight negative acts in treatment and examination. The movement also aims to improve curing and treatment quality, strengthen capability for district medical clinics to reduce overloading in big hospitals and implement the Ministry of Health’s programs. Court hears appeal on Agribank corruption Pham Thi Bich Luong The Hà Nội People’s High Court started hearing an appeal yesterday on a high-profile corruption and economic mismanagement case at the State-owned Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) which resulted in the loss of over VNĐ2.425 trillion (US$106.6 million). The case involves 18 defendants, 13 of whom are former Agribank officials, while four others are former customs officers and one is a former company director. In a trial last December, Phạm Thị Bích Lương, 47, former director of the bank’s South Hà Nội Branch was identified by the Hà Nội People’s Court as the principal defendant. She was sentenced to 30 years in jail for violating lending regulations and abusing her position.
