The five-day visits of Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Hungary and the UK marked a new milestone in bilateral relations, eventually contributing to the Vietnam-EU partnership. The Chairman’s official visit to Hungary was significant amid the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic relations and approaching the five-year mark of the comprehensive partnership (2018 – 2023). In his remarks, VNSC General Director Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Anh Tuan said the Government in February 2021 announced a strategy for the development and application of aerospace science and technology by 2030, aiming to utilise achievements in the fields to address defence and security issues, strengthen management of environment and natural resources, monitor natural disasters and minimise their impacts, and provide related services for people. Samsung Engineering acquires stake in water treatment company
The ceremony to sign the deal was held at the Intercontinental Landmark Hotel in Hanoi, and attended by executives from both companies, including Samsung Engineering Executive vice president GyuYeon Kang and DNP Water chairman Ngo Duc Vu. With this acquisition, Samsung Engineering holds a 24 percent stake in DNP Water, DNP Holding owns 53 percent and other stakeholders have 23 percent. DNP Water is a private enterprise that focuses on water supply business in Vietnam and is the largest private water treatment company in terms of capacity. It was spun off from the DNP Group, a manufacturer of plastic pipes, in 2017. Since then it has been growing in the water treatment business by buying private water supply assets and developing new businesses. Vietnamese charged with NFT fraud in US
He was allegedly involved in the Baller Ape Club, a project that purportedly sold NFTs in the form of various cartoon figures, often including the figure of an ape, the Department of Justice said in a recent statement. Shortly after the first day Baller Ape Club NFTs were publicly sold, Tuan and his co-conspirators engaged in what is known as a "rug pull," ending the purported investment project, deleting its website and pocketing the investors’ money. Based on blockchain analytics, shortly afterward they laundered investors’ funds through "chain-hopping," a form of money laundering in which one type of coin is converted into another and funds are moved across multiple cryptocurrency blockchains, and used decentralized cryptocurrency swap services to obscure the trail of Baller Ape investors’ stolen funds. USAID cooperates with MPI to ready enterprises for the future
On June 29 in Dong Nai, USAID and the Enterprises Development Agency under the MPI organised the workshop themed “Improving packaging technology and design to enhance competitiveness and efficiency”. At the workshop, businesses were updated on information about the latest design technology. Besides this, they received support to design suitable packages with their products to increase their value. One day earlier in Ho Chi Minh City, the two parties also organised a training workshop on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and initial solutions for businesses. Rasmus Nedergaard, an expert on sustainable strategic planning, introduced proactive solutions to reduce emissions for businesses. The event was held by PepsiCo Vietnam , the Centre of Education and Development (CED), and the Vietnam Chamber of Industry and Commerce (VCCI) - Da Nang branch. It was part of the “Increase awareness in plastic waste management” project funded by PepsiCo Foundation through Give2Asia and implemented by CED in collaboration with partners in Vietnam from January 2020 to December 2022. The Lien Chieu deep-water port project, on a planned area of about 450 hectares, will be the largest container port in the central region upon completion and be capable of berthing container vessels of up to 8,000 TEUs. The project consists of 2 components, with an implementation period from 2021 to 2025. Da Nang is now calling for investment in the project and offering incentives. “Port infrastructure investment is among the categories subject to incentives.
