Jakarta (VNA) – The ASEAN Secretariat launched the Year of ASEAN Identity 2020 and presented awards for winners of the Year’s logo design competition on January 21. Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Secretary General in charge of ASEAN Socio-Culture Community Kung Phoak said 2020 is chosen as Year of ASEAN Identity to raise awareness of the public, especially among young generations, about the bloc’s activities and development process. He said ASEAN is working with member states to promote its identity with activities in the fields of culture, arts, communications, youth and education, with the logo design competition one of them. In the near future, the bloc will hold a thematic seminar on ASEAN identity, the ASEAN Culture Summit, the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting for Culture and Arts, and publish a report on ASEAN Identity and a magazine on the same theme. Resolution 10/NQ-TW of the Party Central Committee on developing the private economy into an important driving force of the socialist-oriented market economy reflected the strong renovation of the Party regarding this issue, paving the way for the private economy to become a dynamic and creative economic sector. To realise the resolution, the National Assembly issued and instructed the implementation of several important laws such as the Law on Competition and the Law on Support for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises. Tay Ninh (VNA) - A new two-line cable car system has opened in the southern province of Tay Ninh, taking visitors to the top of Ba Den (Black Lady) Mountain and Ba Den Pagoda. Developed by Sun Group, the cable car system, which is part of the Ba Den Mountain Sun World Tourism Area project, was designed by Austrian company Doppelmayr at an estimated cost of 2 trillion VND (86.5 million USD) for the first phase. With a designed speed of eight metres per second, it can transport 4,400 passengers per hour. Each cabin can accommodate 10 people. The two-way cable car line 1 extends from the foot of the mountain to the peak of Ba Den Mountain. It travels 986 metres above sea level with a length of 1,847 metres.
