Double digit export growth According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, the export turnover of goods in June 2022 reached about US$1.517 billion, up 6.8 percent from May 2022 and 17.5 percent from June 2021. In the first half of this year, the commodity exports turnover reached US$8.3 billion, up 17.1 percent over the first half of 2021. Some key items with increased export turnover in this period included textile and garment, reaching US$1.22 billion, up 29.6 percent; computer components and peripherals, US$1.072 billion, up 20.2 percent. The total import turnover of goods hit US$3.675 billion in June and US$20.5 billion in the first six months of 2022, the latter of which is 24.5 percent higher than the same period in 2021. Four more vaccines to be added to Expanded Immunization Program
Four additional vaccines included in the program from 2022 are a vaccine against Rotavirus, a vaccine against pneumococcal disease from 2025, a vaccine against cervical cancer from 2026, and a vaccine against seasonal flu from 2030. In the resolution, the Government agreed with the Ministry of Health’s roadmap to increase the number of vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program for the 2021-2030 period. According to the Ministry’s proposal, the vaccine against Rotavirus will be included in the program from 2022, a vaccine against pneumococcal disease in 2025, a vaccine against cervical cancer in 2026, and a vaccine against seasonal flu from 2030. The resolution clearly stated the scope and number of beneficiaries as proposed by the Ministry of Health. Hospitals run out of beds as respiratory diseases spike among children in Hanoi, Saigon
Many hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have run out of beds as an increasing number of children have been infected with various respiratory diseases like COVID-19, influenza, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Nguyen Thanh Nam, director of the Pediatric Center of Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, said that the facility has been providing treatment for about 130 young patients with respiratory diseases such as flu, nasopharyngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia over the past month. The same situation was recorded at the Vietnam National Children's Hospital and National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in the capital city.
