At a meeting with U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed in New York on May 16 (local time), the PM stressed that the year 2022 is of great significance as it marks the 45th anniversary of Vietnam’s U.N. membership. Nguyễn Thị Hương won a canoeing gold medal in women's canoe single, 1000m. — VNA/VNS Photo Minh Đức Vietnamese athlete Nguyễn Thị Hương has secured one more gold medal for Việt Nam at the Games after her excellent performance in the women's canoe singles event on May 17. Surpassing her Thai, Indonesian and Myanmar rivals, Hương completed the race in 5 minutes 0.752 seconds ahead of Indonesia's Riska Andriyani (5:09.23), and Myanmar's Thet Phyo Naing (5:19.60). Bursting with joy, the Vietnamese athlete hopes her gold will make more people know about the sport and encourage her teammates in their competitions.
