The move came after the ministry reported that the vaccination for children aged from five to 11 years old has been slower than scheduled, and the deployment of the booster dose for those above 18 years old has failed to reach the targeted goal. Data from the ministry showed that as of May 16, the country has administered more than 217 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including over 55.4 million booster doses for people above 18 years old and more than 2.5 million doses for children aged from five to under 12 years old. Two exhibitions feature over 500 documents, photos, and other materials arranged under the titles “The Simple But Noble Examples” and “Youth- the Spring of the Country” being on display at Ho Chi Minh Museum in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi until September 30. Vietnamese PE teacher dreams of teaching 1 million kids to swim
Huynh Duc Linh, a Vietnamese physical education teacher, is pursuing his dream of teaching swimming to one million kids in Vietnam, spending the last six years teaching over 10,000 students. In 2019, Linh was informed of nine students from Nghia Ha Middle School in central Quang Ngai Province dying in a tragic drowning incident. Since then, Linh and his colleagues have tried to teach swimming skills to children, reaching their target of running courses for over 10,000 kids after six years. Recently, the government has called for far more actions to prevent drowning , making Linh and his team decide to pursue a bigger dream: teaching up to one million kids to swim. More than 2,000 under-16-year-old children drown a year in Vietnam, the World Health Organization cited an estimate in 2020. In Vietnam, female driver allegedly causes girl’s death in serial traffic accident while live streaming
A serial traffic accident between a car, whose female driver was said to be live streaming while steering it, a motorbike and an electric bicycle killed a 16-year-old girl in Lam Dong Province of Vietnam’s Central Highlands region on Thursday. The accident occurred at 7:40 am at the T intersection between 30 Thang 4 and Pham Ngoc Thach Streets in Da Teh District, Lam Dong, local police reported the following day. When N.Y.N., a 16-year-old high school student, was making a left turn into Pham Ngoc Thach Street in accordance with the traffic light there, N.D.T, a resident of Cat Tien District, rode his motorbike in the same direction and collided with N.’s bike, knocking the girl down to the road surface.
