Hundreds of businesses to receive support from USAID IPSC Project
On June 30, the project started to revise and select eligible and qualified businesses to receive support packages for the second intake of 2022, running from April 1 to June 30. The USAID IPSC, with a total budget of $36 million, is currently Vietnam's largest private-sector technical assistance project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to support businesses to overcome the pandemic, improve their capacity in governance, technology, financial access, innovation, and market access, and promote a favourable business investment environment. USAID IPSC targets to support 5,000 small and growing businesses. USAID IPSC officially launched and opened registration on January 18. The applicants go through selection processes (the first in April, the second in July, and the third in November), to receive support packages. Coach hits Ca Mau coffee shop leaving one dead
A coach crashed into a coffee shop in the southern province of Ca Mau, killing one and injuring four others. The incident happened in Tac Van Commune in Ca Mau City at around 9 am on Thursday when the coach hit a local coffee shop. The scence of the accident The victims were four workers from a communications firm who were working near the café and the driver. Part of the coffee shop was damaged by the vehicle. The police quickly came to the scene to control the traffic. Thailand kickstarts tourism campaign through “BL Dramas”

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the campaign was launched in June at the Mini Thai Festival in Osaka, Japan. Two booths were set up by video distributors in the "Thai BL" corner, attracting a large crowd that was also there to view Thai street food stalls and a Muay Thai exhibition . The productions, known as "Y series" in Thailand — a reference to the Japanese "yaoi" fiction that features relationships between male characters and served as the inspiration for BL dramas — were once viewed with prejudice but have since gained acceptance due to their potential to serve as cultural exports. UK trade pact benefits Vietnam
Outstanding tariff preferences The British Embassy in Vietnam has forecast that Vietnam will save about US$151 million in tariffs from the deal, while the UK stands to save around US$36 million. Although the UKVFTA took effect at a time when the pandemic was ravaging the two countries, bilateral trade still reached US$6.6 billion in the pact’s first year. In fact, 65 percent of all tariffs have already been eliminated from UK-Vietnam trade. In the first six years of the deal, the UK will eliminate 99.2 percent of tariff lines on Vietnam’s imports. This is higher than the terms of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) with 70.3 percent tariff elimination.
