Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria and Mali Pham Quoc Tru (Photo: VNA) Algiers, (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria and Mali Pham Quoc Tru met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mali as part of his visit to the African country from March 23-28. Ambassador Tru briefed the community on Vietnam’s development in recent years, as well as the Party and State’s policies for Vietnamese communities abroad. He discussed difficulties facing the community and their proposals to the Party and State. Currently, about 300 Vietnamese people are living in Mali. Most of them run small businesses or work as hired labourers, and life isn’t easy. They live in different localities, making it difficult to gather and support each other. On May 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in Spain exhibited and auctioned 20 artistic photos to raise funds for disadvantaged children in Vietnam. The event, organised in coordination with photographer Tran Viet Ha and jewellery and auction company DURAN, attracted 150 participants, including many foreigners and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Madrid. Now it doesn’t matter, as the dreams are reality. The Việt Nam men’s U22 football team won a gold medal at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines by defeating Indonesia 3-0 in the final. A popular saying goes ‘phúc bất trùng lai’, which means happiness does not repeat itself, but the men’s victory came just days after the women’s team won their own gold medal at the Games. Vietnam’s apparel sector increasingly attractive to foreign investors
Vietnam has become an appealing investment destination for international textile and garment enterprises, as Vietnam’s apparel sector is expected to continue to register strong growth in the coming years. Visitors inspect equipment in the apparel sector at the 2019 Saigon Tex & Saigon Fabric Specifically, more than 1,000 suppliers from 24 countries and territories, including China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Thailand, are participating in the 2019 Saigon Tex and Saigon Fabric exhibitions, the two events in the textile and garment industry held concurrently at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in HCMC’s District 7 from April 10 to 13. Complete set of Czech-Vietnam dictionary released
The set, compiled by late Czech linguistic professor Ivo Vasiljev and co-author Nguyen Quyet Tien, was completed after 12 years. It comprises six volumes targeting Vietnamese expatriates and Czech people who want to learn Vietnamese. Considered a bilingual encyclopedia, it covers a wide range of subjects, including society, culture, history, biography and geography. At the launching event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan spoke highly of efforts made by the authors to complete the dictionary. Nguyen Quyet Tien (R), one of the authors of the Czech-Vietnamese dictionary, presents the complete collection.
