Vietnam’s Furie to compete for Grand Prix at Japan film festival

Furie is entered in the competition section while Daddy Issue will be screened during the closing ceremony. Le Van Kiet’s action film is scheduled to be shown on March 12 and 16, also marking Furie’s international premiere. The competition section will feature 14 Asian films made on or after 1st October 2017 and unreleased in Japan. The winners will be chosen by an international jury. Furie tells the story of a woman in the Mekong Delta facing dangers to save her child. It features actress, producer and director Ngo Thanh Van, aka Veronica Ngo. Osaka Asian Film Festival to screen Vietnamese films 2016
(CPV) - Six Vietnamese films will be screened at the Osaka Asian Film Festival 2016 from March 4th to 13th in Osaka city, Japan. "Yellow flowers on the green grass" film by Victor Vu The six Vietnamese films include the blockbuster “Yellow flowers on the green grass” by Victor Vu; as well as “Big father, small father and other stories” by Phan Dang Di; “Flapping in the middle of nowhere” by Nguyen Hoang Diep; “The lady assassin” and “Super X” by Nguyen Quang Dung; and “Sweet 20” by Phan Gia Nhat Linh. A selection of films about homecoming will be showcased as part of the festival’s 11th edition.
