Mezcal Jazz Unit returns to Hanoi
Wide range of activities honour Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day A series of cultural activities to welcome the ninth Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) kicked off in the Kim Ngan Communal House in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. The highlight of the activities is an exhibition of paintings by architect Hoang Dao Kinh, who has been participating actively in many projects to preserve and restore historical relic sites and cultural heritages in Hanoi. On display are 39 works depicting the beauty of old streets, ancient villages and landscapes in the city. The exhibition will run until December 20. On the same day, the Municipal Old Quarter Management Board is organising performances of Ca Tru ceremonial singing, which was recognised the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind by UNESCO in 2009. Cam Ranh airport security police established The Security Service yesterday announced a decision by the Minister of Public Security to establish Cam Ranh international airport security police in the south central province of Khanh Hoa. Formerly the airport security police was a part of the Immigration Division under the Khanh Hoa Police Department. At the event, Lt. Gen Vu Thanh Binh who is deputy head of the Security Service required the airport security police to quickly stabilize organization and work with Khanh Hoa police and authorized agencies to keep a close control of entry and exit of Vietnam. They have been asked to ensure transparent operation and close security at the airport. On this occasion, the Security Service announced another decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, deputy head of Noi Bai airport security police to the same post at Cam Ranh airport. MoH plans to develop sea, islands medicine Most of medical clinics in islands will enable to carry out anti-epidemic activities and expanded immunization and 90 percent of islands hospitals have doctors who can treat emergency cases and some other diseases. In the project to develop medicine in the country's sea, islands to 2020 and with the vision to 2030 aiming to improve local inhabitants’ healthcare, Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MoH) is working on the plan that clinics in the country's sea, islands will be able to conduct immunization mission and medical workers there can treat local people in critical condition. Currently the population in 28 coastal cities and provinces is around 43.9 million; in communes adjacent to seacoasts is approximately 16.8 million and in island districts of 242,000.
