Developing value chains A report by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that the city is implementing 133 hi-tech agricultural models. Despite their modest scale, they have yielded high economic efficiency. Among these models are Hoa Vien farm in Thach That District, Dan Hoai Cooperative’s orchid planting model in Dan Phuong District, and high tech fish farming models in Ung Hoa and Chuong My districts. In addition, the Hanoi People’s Committee is focusing on developing supply chains of safe agricultural products in the city by approving a number of projects such as the “Production and supply chains of animal feed products to ensure food hygiene in Hanoi in the 2016-2020 period”; and a project on high quality rice production. Police in the southern Vietnamese province of Dong Nai have arrested a manager and five employees of a nightclub for supplying narcotics to their customers. Officers in Long Thanh District confirmed on Sunday evening they had apprehended Nguyen Hong An, 39, manager of Vic Beer Club, for illicitly storing and trading drugs. Five employees of the venue, aged 21 to 27, were also nabbed for similar offenses. On the early morning of the same day, officers raided the nightclub and discovered a total of 29 people, including the five employees, using narcotics. They also confiscated 140 pills of synthetic drugs, 35 packages of crystal meth, two packs of weed, and 22 sets of hookahs used for smoking shisha.
