Vietnamese goods make inroads into Canadian market

Of the total, the export value of apparel, phones and components, and seafood hit US$392.278 million, US$314.862 million, and US$139.5 million, growing 57.59, 22.97, and 73.56 percent annually, respectively. In 2021, despite Covid-19, Vietnam shipped goods worth US$5.3 billion to Canada, an annual increase of 20.8 percent. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), of which both nations are members, has been considered the leverage behind such growth. The pact came into force in late 2018. Vietnam also signed a free trade agreement with Canada, therefore enjoying tariff reduction or elimination. Notably, since January 1, 2021, Canada removed a total of 96.3 percent of the tax lines for goods originated from Vietnam. Torrential rains sink streets in northern Vietnamese provinces

Torrential rains resulted in serious flooding along many streets in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang Provinces, northern Vietnam on Tuesday morning, leaving many cars almost fully submerged. In Bac Giang City, the capital of the namesake province, severe inundation was recorded on Hoang Van Thu and Ngo Gia Tu Streets, as well as at the Nguyen Van Cu-Nguyen Thi Luu intersection and Quang Minh Apartment Building. Floodwaters reached as high as 50 centimeters, posing difficulties for commuters and causing many cars and motorbikes to break down. HBSO presents Friendship Concert at HCMC Opera House

The show will present to music lovers the Candide Overture by Leonard Bernstein which was the most popular piece of contemporary classical music ever written; L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet; Gabriel Faure’s Volin Concerto in D Minor, and John Adams’s Short Ride in a Fast Machine; and Poeme et Danse of Vietnamese-American composer P.Q. Phan. Vietnam Connection Music Festival 2018 to be held in HCMC

Commenting on the US tourist market, a representative of Saigontourist company said that this is one of the major tourist markets. Every year, the company welcomes and serves about 30,000 US tourists for tours into Vietnam by air and sea routes.
