For as long as she can remember, 12th grader Nguyen Thi Dieu Hien has been in love with lotus flowers, even going so far as to make her own lipstick from the regal plant. Hien’s lotus flower lipstick won her second prize at a competition held by Dong Thap's Department of Education and Training in 2021 and another second prize at an innovation competition organized by the Dong Thap Youth Union that same year. Hien is currently a senior at Phu Thanh A High School in Tam Nong District, Dong Thap. Her research into lipstick making began on the Internet. She then began skipping breakfast and using the money she saved to pay for a lipstick machine, molds, glass cups, and ingredients, such as lotus powder, beeswax, olive oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, and mineral colorant. US-Vietnam Cooperation Centre inaugurated in capital
At the event (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Embassy on May 24 co-organised a ceremony to inaugurate the US-Vietnam Cooperation Centre at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV)’s campus in Hanoi. The new centre is an outcome of the partnership between the embassy’s Public Affairs Section and the DAV which highlights not only the importance of the nations’ relationship but also the close cooperation between the embassy and the university. This space, open for academics, researchers, faculty, students, and the public, is set to be a platform for educational and cultural programming, research support, and academic services. Vietnam’s Nha Trang City to host beach tourism festival
Authorities in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam are preparing for next month’s Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival 2022. The festival is part of the south-central province’s efforts to attract tourists to the famous coastal city of Nha Trang under Vietnam’s 2022 National Tourism Year campaign after two years of stalled tourism due to COVD-19. The event is aimed at promoting Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa as a “safe, high-quality, attractive, and friendly” destination, according to Cung Quynh Anh, deputy director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism. The fest is meant to create opportunities for localities and businesses to introduce their tourism products to tourists and residents alike.
