Yulo, the two-time world champion, opened the day’s competition at Quần Ngựa Sports Palace with an electrifying performance in floor exercise, the event he won the 2019 Worlds. He grabbed 15.200 points for his second gold of the meet, highlighting his all-around triumph. Singapore’s Terry Tay Wei An took silver (14.033) and Vietnamese Trịnh Hải Khang bagged the bronze (14.000). Sản was initially a 3000m steeplechase runner who won silver at three previous SEA Games in 2013, 2015 and 2017, but switched to the duathlon over a year ago. He finished the combined 10km running, 40km cycling and 5km running with a time of 1hr 55.57 min on Tuần Châu Island, Quảng Ninh Province. The Vietnamese Sepak Takraw players are expected to win the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games. Sepak Takraw is considered one of the spearhead sports of the Vietnam SEA Games delegation, with many medal winners at SEA Games and Asiad. In the days leading up to SEA Games 31, athletes from Vietnam Sepak Takraw are training hard to get in shape for the event. Twelve male and 12 female players will compete in four men’s and four women’s events, eyeing at least one gold medal in the female category at SEA Games 31.
