Vietnamese telecoms giants grappling with chip shortfall

At present, leaders of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the top provider of telecommunications services and digital solutions in Vietnam, are attempting to shelter from the storm of semiconductor chip shortfall and the ongoing negative pandemic impacts. MobiFone knows that just sticking to traditional business strategies will not cut it going forward, Le Toan General director Huynh Quang Liem explained that while COVID-19’s direct impact on the group’s performance has not been as serious as in 2021, many of its business activities still face difficulties that will possibly affect the company’s revenue and profit targets for 2022 as a whole. Parents propose for upgrade of school facilities before new school year

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCMC  holds a meeting on the preparation of the new school year 2022-2023 Speaking at the meeting this morning held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCMC on the preparation of the new school year 2022-2023, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, announced the results of parents ideas in an online survey. Mr. Trung said that currently, some districts in the southern largest city have more classrooms than their needs whereas other districts are short of classrooms. According to him, the results of a random online survey of 28,347 parents showed that the majority of parents appreciated the present tuition fee policy, the implementation of the admission procedure at the beginning of the year, the educational environment, and the curriculum. Vietnamese and Cambodian navies to foster coordination

In the morning, the delegations of the two navies held the 16th meeting on joint patrols under the co-chair of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy Rear Admiral Pham Van Hung and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Cambodian Navy Vice Admiral Non Sophat. Reports at the event revealed that from December, 2021 to August, 2022, the naval forces of the two countries conducted three joint patrols. Participating naval troops of Vietnam and Cambodia have well carried out joint patrol plans and coordination activities, including hand-flag, signal lamp, and “Hello ASEAN” saluting ceremony (a saluting ceremony at sea between naval ships of ASEAN member states). Half a million Vietnamese students taught digital skills, Internet safety

(Photo: giaoducthoidai.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – More than half a million students across Vietnam have been taught critical digital skills and how to stay safe on cyberspace over the last three years, according to a report by the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES). The report was announced at a workshop on digital skills education at schools in Vietnam jointly held by the VNIES, the Vietnet Information Technology and Communication Centre (Vietnet-ICT) and Meta – Facebook’s parent company – in Hanoi on August 19. The hybrid event attracted some 380 participants, about 300 of whom were attending via teleconference. Denmark and Vietnam strengthen co-operation in the agri-food sector

Since Vietnam officially declared the COVID-19 pandemic under control earlier this year, foreign enclaves in Ho Chi Minh City have, once again, begun to bustle, with old stores resuming their operations and new shops opening every day in commercial spaces that sat unoccupied for months on end. Once Vietnam dropped its on-arrival COVID-19 testing requirement for foreign travelers and reopened its international air routes in mid-May, the number of foreigners entering the country began to increase, paving the way for foreign enclaves in Ho Chi Minh City to return to their pre-pandemic life.
