The number of foreign visitors to Vietnam has increased rapidly with 252,000 arrivals after the government reopened borders on March 15, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). Foreign visitors have returned to Da Nang city (central Vietnam) after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The past month saw travelers from traditional markets such as Europe, America, and the Republic of Korea (RoK) visit the country, along with from emerging markets like Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and India On April 29, Da Nang welcomed back the first 220 RoK visitors following the COVID-19 pandemic, while the ancient town of Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City received roughly 130 American travelers. A ceremony of receiving and planting 24 cherry blossom trees The ceremony is an activity in a framework of the "Meeting Gia Lai – Japan 2022" program and under events to mark the 90th founding anniversary of Gia Lai Province, contributing to tightening friendship and solidarity between the two countries. RoK helps Hue city develop smart tourism

(Photo: VNA) Thua Thien-Hue – The People’s Committee of Hue city in central Thua Thien-Hue province, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on May 23 jointly kicked off a project to build Hue city of culture and smart tourism. The project, which is funded by the Republic of Korea (RoK) Government, aims to build a smart tourism information system, develop an urban cultural tourism centre and expand walking zones in Hue city in order to boost tourism in the former imperial capital. It will also cover the installation of smart lighting and surveillance camera systems along the banks of Huong (Perfume) River and building public administration capacity in tourism development and urban management.
