His opinion was shared following the story of 29-year-old Vietnamese-born American doctor Tran Hoang Minh, who has opted to return to Vietnam and work in a low-paid public hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Launching the 6th International Art Photography Contest and Exhibition in Vietnam
(Cinet) – In support of the Federation of International Art Photography (FIAP), in the afternoon, May 23rd, 2011, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists launched the 6th International Art Photography Contest and Exhibition 2011 in Vietnam (VN-2011). The 6th Contest has a lot of new features. First, subjects are absolutely free and the authors can take color or monochromatic photos. Besides, the Association also uses a separate prize system and participational works for foreign authors living, working and traveling taking photos on Vietnam with the topic of “Vietnam’s image through international friends’ lens”. The participational method also has changes. Every author has a right to send the maximum four photos to every participational content (colour photos, monochromatic photos). PM calls for more Korean investment in VietnamThe Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expects CJ Group and other South Korean corporations to invest more in Vietnam, according to the Government news website. At a meeting with CJ Group chairman Sohn Kyung Shik in Hanoi on December 7, Phuc praised the Korean conglomerate for its investment in multiple fields in Vietnam including food processing, logistics and film production. The company has contributed significantly to the country’s development and its strategic partnership with Korea. Phuc said he expects more than 150,000 Koreans living and working in Vietnam and leading Korean firms active in the country such as Samsung, LG, Lotte and CJ would help create a new Korean investment wave in Vietnam. He also expected Korea to share its experience in economic development and cultural promotion abroad and help Vietnam develop agriculture, especially organic one.
